In 1962, U.S. Army helicopters airlifted ARVN troops against a Viet Cong force near Saigon, and flew into history. Vietnam veterans know all about how much more of that history was written between 1962 and 1975. Much of that history and many of their stories are intimately linked with the Huey helicopter.
We know that an opportunity for Vietnam vets to reconnect with the Huey helicopter can be a very powerful, moving, and healing experience. Time is taking its toll on the veterans and the aircraft that fought in that war. We believe that every effort should be made to preserve their stories and the history and heritage of that period.
Your donation will help the Association acquire, restore, and operate these historic aircraft and honor the soldiers that flew in them. Huey 823 flew for the 170th AHC and Company C 101st Avn Bn 101st Airborne in Vietnam during 1968 and 1969.
